We arrived at the rather plush campgrounds during the early evening, prices were much higher than we were accustomed to. With our rather cheap Zimbabwean vodka hidden in our bags we settled down to a relaxing night of drinks before settling down to a night under the desert stars.
Sossusvlei is situated adjacent to the oldest desert in the world, The area is characterized by high sand dunes of vivid pink-to-orange colour. These dunes are among the highest in the world; many of them are above 200 metres.
As with many others we visited this major Namibian tourist attraction at sunrise, they the dunes colours are constantly changing.
